Get to Know Iyo Aghedo

​ It is common for human beings to fall apart when they experience trauma or major life challenges. My name is Iyo Aghedo, I am a 24 year old Psychology Major at Florida International University, and my dream is to bring mental health advocacy to my home country of Nigeria. Contrary to popular belief, trauma is the rule, not the exception. From traumatic world events to interpersonal strife, I want to one day be a Counselor that specializes in helping minorities become the best version of themselves by increasing their self efficacy and grit. I want to lean into traditional practices and community healing that allows individuals to grow and feel secure.   ​   ​
